This song has been in the works since 2021, going through so many different versions whilst I dealt with old friends and new loves ending. It holds a gentle, warm sadness that I don't feel like I'd captured before now in my music, walking you through a day of heartbreak in my shoes, and taking you with me as I reflected on what could've been. And that's the reason why this song has taken so long to write, it's reflective and it dwells in the past. A past that wasn't particularly kind to me and one that hurt to revisit, but taking that pain and forging it into this song has been a beautiful, heart wrenching experience.
There is so much more I could say about this piece, so I've written a lot of it out on my blog for anyone interested in the why and the how behind this song. But first, please sit and listen. I would love to hear how this song resonated with you!
And I have to mention the incredible artwork by Richard's Illustrations. All I sent him was the recording, lyrics and my drafted blog post, and he came up with this beautiful piece of art. Absolutely lost for words.
Dizzy is now available on all major streaming platforms too! Spotify is changing things for artists, so songs with less than 1000 streams don't generate revenue. Even then, Spotify's rates generate £0.006 per stream. So, if you're going to stream, stream lots!!
Thanks for supporting my work, I hope you enjoy Dizzy. x
